The Marque Hotel Brisbane and Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane Unveil Plans for Brand New Names

Rendezvous Hotel Group has revealed future re-branding plans which will see The Marque Hotel Brisbane renamed as Rendezvous Studio Hotel Brisbane on George, and Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane become Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane Anzac Square.
The name change coincides with a brand-rejuvenation program which is currently being undertaken to revitalise the Rendezvous Hospitality Group. All Hotels in the Group will consolidate under a One Rendezvous brand, with Rendezvous Grand Hotels, Rendezvous Hotels and Rendezvous Studio Hotels emerging.
The Company’s investment in the re-branding program, including renovations in some Hotels in the Group, will establish RHG as the business and leisure travellers’ hotels of choice in the Asia-Pacific region and boost the Group’s growth potential by way of development and strategic alliances.
Justin Philip, Area General Manager of Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane and The Marque Hotel Brisbane says, “We are incredibly excited about the rebranding of our Brisbane hotels. This will enable a smoother cross promotion between the two properties and ensure strengthening of the Rendezvous brand in the Brisbane marketplace”.
The Rendezvous brand began in Singapore in 1997 and its parent company, the Straits Trading Company has a history of tradition and strong Asian heritage which remains the source of inspiration to the organisation today.
Major Re-branding Announced Under Multi-Million Dollar Initiative

The Rendezvous Hospitality Group (RHG) today announced a multi-million dollar initiative and rebranding which will revitalise the RHG hotel portfolio.
Under a new structure, Rendezvous Hotels and The Marque Hotels will evolve into one Rendezvous brand which will become synonymous with superior value accommodation offering discerning travellers for business and leisure a unique hospitality experience.
The introduction of different tiers within the Rendezvous brand will allow the group to target three distinct segments:
• Rendezvous Grand Hotels
• Rendezvous Hotels
• Rendezvous Studio Hotels
The first Hotel in the group to be renamed and relaunched under this new model will be Rendezvous Grand Hotel Singapore in December, 2011. The Hotel and adjoining retail podium Rendezvous Gallery are completing a S$25m upgrade program by the end of this year.
Rendezvous Hotel Auckland, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, Rendezvous Hotel Perth and The Marque Hotel Perth are currently undergoing refurbishment.
As part of re-branding exercise, The Marque Sydney and The Marque Brisbane will be renamed Rendezvous Studio Sydney Central and Rendezvous Studio Brisbane on George respectively.
CEO, Eric Teng said this realignment and investment in refurbishment will boost the Group’s growth potential by way of development and strategic alliances.
“We have exciting plans to improve our product and we intend to build on our strengths as a provider of superior, value accommodation for business people travelling for work and/or leisure who want a unique hospitality experience.”
Mr Teng said this collection of contemporary and heritage style hotels under the one Rendezvous brand signals a long-term commitment and intention for growth in key destinations throughout the Asia Pacific region.

New Name And New Look For Rendezvous Hotel Auckland
New Zealand’s largest hotel, Rendezvous Hotel Auckland, is currently undergoing refurbishment as part of a multi-million dollar Group re-branding initiative announced earlier this month.
The refurbishment of Rendezvous Hotel Auckland follows the mid-October announcement made by Rendezvous Hospitality Group uniting Rendezvous Hotels and Marque Hotels into one Rendezvous brand. Rendezvous Hotel Auckland will become Rendezvous Grand Hotel Auckland.
The extensive refurbishment will distinguish Rendezvous Hotel Auckland through design, technology, amenities and brand identity as one of the most outstanding dining and premier accommodation experiences in Auckland.
Mr Paul Gallop, Rendezvous Hotel Auckland General Manager said the refurbishment program at New Zealand’s largest hotel will offer discerning travellers for business and leisure a unique hospitality experience.
“We are delighted to be well underway in such an exciting refurbishment program. All our guest suites have been completed along with our Tui conference rooms. Work will continue over the next few months on the remainder of our guestrooms and conference rooms along with our lobby, restaurants and bar. It has been, and will continue to be, paramount for us to maintain guest satisfaction throughout the entire process, ensuring that this period is one of excitement and not inconvenience. We look forward to unveiling the new designs once completed early next year,” Mr Gallop said.
The extensive upgrade program incorporates all 452 guestrooms and suites, Club Lounge, Aucklander Bar and Lobby along with the Tui and Coromandel functions rooms. Additionally, both the Pacific Restaurant and the multi-award winning Katsura Japanese Restaurant will undergo a redesign to create new signature dining experiences.
The new-look guestrooms and suites will showcase modern living, combining extensive space with natural light to provide a more contemporary and comfortable environment for guests. Each room will feature specialised LED lighting to allow guests to define the mood, complemented by upgrades to in-room technology.
“Our upgraded guestrooms, lobby, dining and meeting facilities along with our CBD location and fine customer service will cement Rendezvous Hotel Auckland as one of the most sought-after hotels in the city”.
The Hotel will remain open during the entire refurbishment period and work is scheduled for completion by February 2012.
Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne Announces Restoration and Grand New Name
The historic Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne is well underway in the planning stages of a significant restoration and refurbishment program as part of a multi-million dollar re-branding initiative announced by Rendezvous Hospitality Group (RHG) earlier this month.
Upon completion, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne will be renamed Rendezvous Grand Hotel Melbourne, offering superior accommodation for upscale, discerning travellers.
The restoration and refurbishment of Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne has been four years in development, with careful research, meticulous study and sensitive consideration undertaken to incorporate and preserve the unique charm, heritage and features of this much-loved, iconic building.
The refurbishment will rejuvenate the historic 1900’s building and include a range of modern facilities for discerning travellers for both business and leisure. Yet the restoration and redevelopment will preserve the historic charm, intricate heritage detailing and interiors that showcase the quintessential personality of this historic Hotel that has a special place in the city of Melbourne.
Mr Alexander Billing, Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne General Manager said the refurbishment of Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne will restore the Hotel to its original glory, without loss of character or its boutique ambience.
“The design aspect will not only highlight the iconic heritage of the building, but improve the overall level of guest comfort, satisfaction and experience in a superb established location,” Mr Billing said.
“The Hotel will remain open during the entire process and we expect there will be minimal disturbance or inconvenience to our guests.”
The refurbishment will provide Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne with the opportunity to distinguish itself through design, image, technology, amenities and brand identity and position the Hotel as one of Melbourne’s outstanding dining and premier accommodation experiences.
The extensive upgrade program incorporates the accommodation rooms and suites, food and beverage facilities and conference and meeting facilities.
Earlier this month, RHG announced a multi-million dollar rebranding initiative uniting Rendezvous Hotels and Marque Hotels into one Rendezvous brand.
The completion of the refurbishment of Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne will be mid 2012, a significant year when part of the original building will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne wins AHA award
The landmark Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne was awarded Outstanding Marketed Hotel of the Year at the Australian Hotels Association (Victoria) Accommodation Awards on Friday 20 May, 2011.
Held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, the event celebrates the leaders of excellence within Victoria’s tourism industry for the 2010-2011 period.
It was a big night for Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne, which not only took home the award for Outstanding Marketed Hotel of the Year, but was also a finalist for the Superior Accommodation Hotel of the Year. The Hotel’s employees were also recognised, with finalist nominations for Niall Blundell as the Front Office Service Employee of the Year and David West, who was nominated as Administration Employee of the Year.

Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne Wins Victoria's Superior Accommodation Hotel of the Year
The Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne was crowned Victoria's Superior Accommodation Hotel of the Year at the Australian Hotels Association Accommodation Awards.
Attended by 400 hoteliers and key leaders of Victoria's tourism industry, the awards were presented to the state's leading accommodation hotels for the 2009-2010 period.
Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne was chosen as the winner of the Victoria's Superior Accommodation Hotel of the Year award based on its outstanding front desk, concierge, in-house operator, housekeeping and room services, restaurant and bar facilities, environmental footprint and unique features.
